五年內:
能夠找到我喜歡, 適合我, 與跟台灣有關的工作. 因此, 我可以使用我在文藻所學到的東西, 也希望能夠證明給各公司看文藻畢業生的優質. 找到好工作後, 我會考慮是否需要繼續念研究所 (按照我工作所需要的能力).
 
十年內:
當全部搞定後, 如果我能夠回到台灣或到其他國家工作, 我會請我父母跟著我. 他們年紀都大了, 我要珍惜每分每秒.

2010 "世說華語" 文藻國際青年華語究習營

 

 

   This summer vacation, I attended Chinese Summer Camp in order to obtain more experience in dealing with foreigners. What I mean by ‘dealing’ here is actually means ‘serving’. Because for most of them, it’s their first time to be in Taiwan, and of course also the first time to be in Chinese-speakers environment. After been observing in several days, I realized that the main problem isn’t merely come from the language. There are some huge differences they had to deal with, such as cultures, foods, and weather! I thought it wouldn’t be so hard to deal with them, because I was quite confidence in my language ability. But I was wrong, the main thing I needed wasn’t merely a language, yet I needed a particular skill in delivering information or suggestions. It means that, although we know the correct grammar or vocabulary, we still need to be able to deliver it in proper way, in order to avoid misunderstanding.

 

   I felt unspeakably amazing during this camp. I’ve dealt with foreigners who came from 13 different countries. I learnt to be a global person, either in term of knowledge or in term of cultures. In some countries, people are used to be independent, so for them if we consider too much about their own matters, they will feel annoyed. However, some other participants think that we are obliged to help them in every single thing. I’d had lot of chat with almost all participants, exchanging cultures and our point of view in different issues. I realized that there’re bunch of knowledge that you couldn’t get from book or internet, but from the natives.

 

   After finished with the camp, I felt empty because I was used to be very busy every day. However, because of this camp, now I get used to help other people without any thinking twice. I feel something like satisfaction whenever I help someone, either in small case or bigger case. I believe that to help someone, is also to learn how to become a better person. I’m now trying to change my perspective, not to do everything just for granted. Because every time you help someone, it’s the opportunity for your own self to learn more.

實習心得

第49屆遠東暨東南亞獅子年會

 

   能夠參加這種活動真讓我覺得很幸運, 尤其是可以當會議記錄人員. 我一開始不知道會議紀錄的工作。還記得當天的前兩天, 還跟其他同學一起從網路上做會議記錄的練習 (練習聽力, 打字, 等). 公司也已經通知我們每天只會有一個開會, 因為我們有分配工作. 所以我本來以為這份工作應該會很輕鬆。

 

   第一天影響最深刻, 我們遇到的困難真的讓我很驚訝, 這份工作, 根本不像我想像的那樣, 就是他們說出來的英文有的時候會不太清楚, 有時候說得太快, 也有時候腔調太重, 我們根本來不及全部打下來, 幸好我們那時候可用錄音筆。 所以開完會議後, 我們要把開會全部的研討打下來做成一個會議紀錄, 問題是, 這個紀錄就是隔天早上要馬上用到的一份資料. 第一天的開會晚上十點半才結束, 所以我們要馬上整理所有的資料。 才第一天就凌晨兩點多才下班。

 

   在活動進行當任會議記錄人員真的給我很多的經驗。我學到了怎麼要跟別人一起工作. 這件事真的不簡單, 因為每個人有自己的想法, 我們要好好檢討自己的意見, 要考慮到別人的想法。另外,我的英文能力也得到不少的進步. 我學到很多在學校可能不會教到的新單字與片語。

當然, 我現在還是要繼續念英文, 讓它收到更多的進步, 因為從這個活動, 我們可以看到英文可以當所謂的國際語言, 大家不管從哪個國家都用英文來表達他們的想法。

 

 
2011世界精神醫學會暨 50 週年年會暨學術研討會
 
 
   Since it was my second time to have an internship opportunity in Taiwan, I didn't get too nervous like I was in the first time. The job descriptions and instructions were clear so that it was not hard for us to understand thoroughly what we had to do. As always, and will always be my favorite part in participating this kind of activity, is that I made lots of new friends easily since we had to cooperate with each other in order to be 
 
   Each student took different job and we were divided fairly based on our skill and experience. For my case, I was assigned as the PIC (person in charge) for one particular meeting room. The job was not that hard either, once we knew it in the first meeting, the second, the third, and the rest of it will basically be the same.  It brought big advantages as well for me because some lectures will be spoken in English which means I could practice my listening skill and also gain new knowledge, though I couldn't understand nearly 70% of the content (too many medical terms). 
   Time indeed flies. It felt like 3 hours to got through those 3 days. I obtained many useful experience from this activity, especially on how to cooperate with other people and how to manage things efficiently and effectively at the same time. I learnt a lot from my co-workers seeing how they manage things differently than how I do. I would be so glad if I could get another opportunity like this so that I can keep cultivating and practicing my skills on the field.

18th ASEACCU Conference 2010 in Bangkok, Thailand
 
   
    First of all, I want to thank every institution involved which trusted me to be one of the delegates in this ASEACCU conference. Once I heard that Wenzao provide this opportunity to go abroad attending a conference, to tell the truth, my mind just went to the traveling part. I was so excited about this merely because I never been to Thailand before. The only difficulty I knew is that I had to prepare a short presentation about Taiwan and Wenzao.
 
    After several days longing for the trip, finally came the day I had to fly to Thailand. By the time I arrived, I had the great feeling of going back home. I can’t help my eyes but keep looking outside, observing every part of the city which we passed by. And what could I said is, there’d be no city as similar as Jakarta instead of Bangkok. They have so many similarities in lot of aspects, such as city's infrastructure, public transportations, traffic regulations, and yes, quality of life.
 
    We passed day by day by having several conferences and many discussions between the students and they always have some cases to be solved which mainly focused on "care". During the first discussion we had limited of time, we had to come up with the result in only 25 minutes time. It’s not easy to come up with big idea in such short period. The main problem is language and also confidence. Some people thought that their English isn’t so fluent so they didn’t dare to speak up their ideas. But gradually, once one people start to speak, the others tried to give some feedbacks and also responding suggestion, then we successfully made it on time at that time. For the last part of the conference, we came up with main idea which is ‘care’. Means that we need to apply this ‘care’ to every aspect in our life, also to every people live nearby us, in order to show them the spirit of Catholics.
 
    After attending this conference, my eyes were widely opened realizing that there still many students in other countries who have better knowledge and language ability compare to me. I'm making this comparison not to judge people, but as a motivation for myself to keep learning and never be satisfied with what I have achieved.
